CALM

"I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content." - Psalm 131:2

My word for the month of January was “CALM.” When I received it during a December calendaring exercise I thought “Ah, calm is nice. That sounds lovely.”

The start of 2022 has been anything but “calm” - we began with record snow fall and ice (8 days in our house unable to leave due to 3” of ice on the roads and hilly surround), followed by record breaking rain accumulation and flooding, then Joe and I came down with the Omicron variant. Calm is not how I would describe my month.

I chatted with God about his definition of the word - and I heard laughter in my head. “Calm describes your inner posture, not your circumstances. It was a cue to you how to posture yourself, your outlook, your demeanor when outside forces exerted themselves upon you and your family.”

“Oh.”

Next months word is “PEACE” - this should be interesting.
