Water, water, everywhere…. We have an overabundance of water, running down hills, standing in valleys, raising rivers, closing streets, flooding basements, casements and apartments. We have decade long rainfall and snow accumulation records being shattered, demolished and destroyed. Are we being drenched, abundantly more than usual, due to a spiritual reason?
I loosely follow the worldwide prophetic movement. I hold “the words” in an open hand but when things start overlapping, coinciding, or sounding similar I pay attention. Since January of 2020 I have been hearing “Water, Water, Everywhere.”
Just as we entered the new decade, ourselves, along with five other families in our church, sustained marked water damage to our homes. Ours was minimal; another family was out of their home for 18+ months due to extensive damage and COVID driven construction delays. The concurrence was too coincidental… and niggled the back of my brain. Was God speaking through the experience?
I reached out to a few “intercessory type” friends - one in South Africa asked me questions:
What was prophesied over our region. What is expected? What is coming?
“Fire.” I told her - “We are prophesied to have revival. Outpouring. Reformation. Prophetic voices tutored and launched. The supernatural The miraculous.”
“Hmmm.” she replied. “Holy Spirit and water are usually synonymous. Rain and revival usually go together.”
I logged it into the back of my brain. The niggle stopped… for awhile.
In April 2020 Christy Johnson released a word detailing a vision she witnessed. Again, water was a central theme:
In October 2021 Sharell Barrera released a prophetic word about the entire West Cost - This time the water is in wells.
November 2021 brought another encouraging word for Washington State. Christianna Schreifels told of massive sheets of rain, flooding and a season of growth.
NOTE - as of January 12, 2022 Washington State has had record setting snow, rainfall, and flooding. An article in The Guardian stated: “…areas saw nearly half of the rain they would expect to see for January in one day…South-west Washington experienced its worst flooding in a decade and some rivers crested at more than 18ft…”
I found that interesting.
Finally, January 2 of this year Bonnie Jones posted about Washington State. Again, water, tsunami-type flooding was mentioned:

I think so.
Washington State was COVID’s US kickoff site and has not fully surfaced since. We are STILL observing a mask mandate. We had the one of the first vaccine mandates in the country. Job loss is rife, shelves are empty, homelessness rampant. We fight daily to keep our freedoms - to worship, to work, to fellowship, to gather, and to choose for ourselves. Exemption letters, proof of vaccination, COVID testing - the swirl here is overwhelming.
And the rain pours on - pours and pours and pours some more. Water, water everywhere.
The niggle is back. What is God washing away? What is he changing with the flood waters? What is he removing? Revealing?
Only time will tell.
